BHUTTA COLLEGE CELEBRATES WOMEN’S DAY
The Management and Commerce department of Baba Khajan Das College of Management Technology celebrated the spirit of womanhood on the occasion of International Women’s Day on 8th March. The event began with a guest lecture by Mrs. Parminder Grewal, an entrepreneur who addressed the students and motivated them on being self-sufficient by having economic independence which will give them their own identity. She emphasized on the power within a woman and guided the students to love themselves first. Various competitions were held, including cook with fire and floral jewellery exhibition. In accordance with the theme of women’s day- pledge for parity, various stalls were put up by the girl students to showcase their entrepreneurial skills. The group of Rajanpreet Kaur, Jaspreet Kaur, Sukhwinder Kaur and Rupinder Kaur were adjudged the best entrepreneurs. Arshdeep Kaur won Cook without Fire; and Sandeep Kaur and Amarjeet Kaur won Floral Jewellery competition. Mandeep Kaur of BBA 5th sem who scored 87% marks in PTU exams and Georgian of MBA 3rd sem who scored 84.9% marks were also honoured on the occasion. S. Jagdish Singh Garcha, former Technical Education Minister, Punjab; Secretary, Governing Council addressed the students and encouraged them on their efforts.
